    It's about choices Microsoft. You keep choosing how to make the 'Best home entertainment system' without realizing that preferences are based on the individual, highly subjective, and often times vary considerably from person to person.

    It's pretty effing annoying that there is also no option to choose WHAT notifications to 'pop-up', I don't care about 'Achievements', I care about Party/Game Invites, everything else is just SPAMMMMMM.

    You can't delete the account. You just let it go inactive.

    If you completely close out your account you will lose ALL digital game licenses that are associated with that account, ALL MS account balance/gift card balance.

    You are not going to be able to do what you are wanting to do if your account is linked to other MS stuff.

    The only thing you can do is change what email is associated with a xbox profile.

    When you say your MS account is linked to other stuff do you mean like MS stuff? (office subscription, one drive, WIN 10 PC) or do you mean like facebook, twitter, Instagram and stuff like that?

    If the email address is a MS server email (outlook.com, Hotmail.com, live.com, msn.com) if you completely close out your account you will no longer have access to that email. If it is one of these you will not be able to do what you want because if you add

    If it is a non-MS server email (see last paragraph) then you can change the email associated with your MS account but if it associated with stuff to do with MS then you would have to sign in with whatever email you are changing it to if it is associated
    with Non-MS stuff then changing the email for your MS account will not affect those.

    The best thing probably to do in your situation is to honestly just pay the 10 dollars.
