how do you change your router' security protocol

If your Xbox one is saying "Your security protocol won't work". You can try unplugging the Xbox one for a few seconds and plug it back in then try. I see this has helped other users that had their xbox one saying security protocol issue.

You will have to do that from inside your router settings, there are different ways to do so and you may need to refer to your router's manual.

Usually what you need to do that is to enter the IP address written on your router's description on your Internet browser and log in to the device's settings.

By the way, I don't see how this is an Xbox related question but I'm still happy to help as best as I can

thats the security protocol for your wifi network - you would need to log in to your router and change it from wpa2-aes to another protocol

I have the same problem, if you connect it with an ethernet cable if you register your mac adress to the uni website

Thanks for bringing this issue to us unfortunately this has to be addressed by the school IT department since the issue is the Consoles MAC address has to be given permission to access the network. Reach out to them and they should be able to assist in the
matter! Also try Clearing out the Network Card Cache (alternate MAC address) by following these steps:

Select Clear and then Restart
