    I never noticed until today... when I was purchasing a game, it requested me to put in my phone number. It showed "***-***-6947" while mine is "***-***-6948. Can anyone help??? ( I am new to xbox)

    How to Change your Xbox LIVE account information

    Overview

    It is possible to change information associated with your Xbox LIVE account like your name, address, phone number or email address.

    Note: You cannot change the country that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. If you have moved to another country and you would like to access Xbox LIVE from there, you have to create a new Xbox LIVE account in your new location.

    How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on Xbox.com

    1) Go to My Account and Sign In with your Microsoft Account. (This is the email and password that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account).

    2) Make the changes you want to your billings account information and then click Save.

    How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on your console.

    1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

    2) Proceed to Settings, and then select Account.

    3) Select Your Information, and then go to Billing Information.

    4) Sign In with your Microsoft account password.

    5) Change your billing account information and then click Done.

    In case you want to change the billing name on your Xbox LIVE account, go to Xbox.com

    You shouldn't HAVE to change your phone number, but you most likely will need to change it. Also, the amount of complaints someone files against a person for breaking the CoC/ToU doesn't matter; the Enforcement Team only needs one (1) valid complaint. Sure
    he'll get banned, but there's nothing stopping him from making another account with your phone number in it again, or posting your number in his profile. Smartest thing to do is just change your phone number.

    In order to do security changes (in this case, change the phone number associated with your Microsoft account) probably you need to verify your identity.

    Sign with your account here:

    https://account.microsoft.com/profile

    Select "Edit account info" and remove and add the desired number.

    Please also double check and delete the older number from here as well:

    https://account.microsoft.com/security?lang=en-US > advance security options
