How do you change an alias if you cannot verify your email?

I have an email account that was deactivated a long time ago and it is not provided by outlook or any other microsoft related programs. There is no way to recover it and I cannot change my alias because I can't verify the email that is already associated
with my account. I have tried multiple times to fix this problem in the past with some employees but they do not seem to know how to fix it. I need major help addressing this issue because it restricts the accessibility of the account. I also have tried to
rename my alias as the supposed "alternative" that this website tells me but it says that the service is unavailable and I'm still stuck with an inactive email. A solution would be wonderful because this has gone on for too long.

I want to add an alias to my account but I cannot because I have a this warning: "For security reasons, you need to verify your primary alias before you can add another alias." How can I add an alias if I cannot verify my primary address? I no longer have
access to my primary email address as it no longer exists.

Change e-mail

I am trying to change the e-mail address associated with my account since I no longer have access to the e-mail address associated with it. I went to "account" then "your info" then "manage how you sign in" but it is telling me "For security reasons, you
need to verify your primary alias before you can add another alias" but I am unable to verify it since I no longer have access to the e-mail address associated with my account. It seems like a never ending loop i'm stuck in. How do I fix this?

Is the email address verified? If it is verified, sign in to account.live.com and click add or change alias. There you can add a new email, make it the primary alias and removed the hacked email address. If it is not verified, but you know the password,
sign in to verifyme.microsoft.com and when it says your email hasn't been verified it will give you an option to change the email address you sign in with.

Actually, that can only be possible if you still have access to the primary email because it will need to be verified first before you can change the alias. So if you still have access to the primary email, you can always change that to a different alias but if not, you cannot change that anymore and rely on your security proofs for recovery access.

Thank you for keeping us updated. As XBF Amber M stated, the alias must be verified in order to receive emails through your Microsoft account. This can be completed by logging in to the
Microsoft account website. The website should prompt you to verify your email address if necessary. If the website does not prompt you to verify your email address, we recommend removing
the primary alias and adding it back. Once you access the website, we suggest going to the area where you

change the primary alias. The article XBF Amber M and I provided contains steps on how to change the primary alias.

Note: If you choose to remove an alias that uses a Microsoft domain such as @hotmail.com, @outlook.com, or @live.com, that alias will be completely deleted and will not be available to sign in to any Microsoft services.
