How do my son and I use the same xbox account on seperate consoles with different profiles

Nothing can be transferred between accounts. Your son would either need to continue using your account and you create a new one or you create a new one for your son and he starts over while you keep your account.

ok so i have 3 xbox's on my network, mucho dlc and a family account (4 profiles) if I always use my main profile to buy dlc then technically i can play 2 different profiles (say my profile and my son can play his profile) at the same time on 2 seperate xbox's
and use the dlc on both provided I sign my profile in on the xbox that doesn't have the dlc on it and my son uses his account that had the dlc downloaded on it correct? or is this a no go? Basically I want to party up with my son/daughter and play the dlc
(that I bought) on seperate full screen tv's/xbox's..

This is what i dont understand though... I have the setup you outlined above with Profile 1 (XBL pass holder) signed in on console 1, Profile 2 signed in on console 2 (set as home console). It allows them to use games from my account/pass on both consoles...

But

Up until a last month, they were both setup on these two consoles under 2 different profiles and they WERE able to play same or different game(s) at same time. It only prevented us doing this if they were both signed in to same profile. But if they were using their seperate profiles on different consoles, it was no issue.

Im not sure why since my XBL pass accidently got cancelled and restarted, this issue is happening.

Can i confirm... You are saying it is NOT possible for them both be playing a game on different profiles / different consoles at same time?

My son and I share an Xbvox console.

He has had his LIVE ID on his profile for a while and uses it for game purchases and downlaods etc.

We purchased Magic 2012 and he used points to purchase keys and unlock decks. Everything worked fine. On the download site it says that the keys can be used for "any profile on same console", however I could not get the keys to be seen on my profile or unlock
any decks.

I then added my LIVE ID to my gamer profile. SInce then neither my son nor myself am able to purchase keys or unlock decks. It appears that by adding my LIVE ID to my profile on same console has broken both our accounts.

It is not a regional issue and local support are unable to assist. I tried to merge our profiles onto one LIVE ID, but the system will not let me do that either.

I then downloaded the first Magic release and the same issues occur. It lets us do seperate purchases at the game level, but when we get to ingame downloads everything freezes up on us.

How do we fix this problem?

I do not have the funds to buy a second console for myself

We do not want to share one gamer profile as we do not want each other playing on our accounts etc.

IS this just a Magic gsame problem? If so how do we rectify it?

your son needs a seperate account, you can only use the one profile in one place at a time.
