How do I view captures that I copied to my external hard drive?

So I got an external hard drive for me Series X that I had formatted to be used only for captures and clips. I have tried copying the captures I currently have on both the Xbox network and my default internal hard so that they are all in one dedicated place. The issue I'm having is when I go to the captures app and select the external hard drive, it shows nothing at all. It is a USB 3.0 and is formated for media instead of games. I tried looking through some other forums, but wasn't able to find much. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong and would appreciate the help!

Hello Khaji,

I am still not able to see my screenshots and game clips on my external hard drive.

The drop down menu between the "on the Xbox network," "On this Xbox console," and "On external drive" are there, but the external drive has nothing on it to view.

I have went through the process to copy the contents from the Xbox network and Xbox console to the external hard drive via the Manage option several times, but it says there are no captures on it when I select it afterwards.

The external hard drive is plugged in, is USB 3.0, and properly formatted to be media only

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Go to “My games and apps” > “See all” > “Applications” > “Shots”

Select “Manage” to review your captures.

Filter between “On the Xbox network” and “On this Xbox console” to find your screenshots

If after following these steps you cannot see your screenshots, it might be helpful to check if your external hard drive is properly connected and working.

Really the only thing you can do and what is recommended is that you
continue insisting with the Xbox team, explaining the situation in detail
since they are the only ones who can help you because they do have access to
the accounts and can see what possibly happened. . This forum is really not the
most appropriate medium to discuss your topic, especially since we as players do
not have the tools to help you as it is a sensitive privacy and security issue.
