How do I upgrade my minecraft version without losing worlds

I play minecraft on my Android in 1.20. I want to upgrade my version to 1.20.4 but I cant see an upgrade option on play store so i have to probably re-install the app but i am scared of losing my world.

My worlds are saved in application format instead of external storage. The game doesn't automatically transfer the data to external storage even when i select the option. So i have no reliable way to store my progress. Now, my phone does show the option to save app data when i try to uninstall the app. But honestly i dont want to take any chances. Can anyone suggest me what to do. I dont know if my phone will reliable restore the data aftervre installation i just want a conformation (i have a Samsung m11 its probably version 10+). Or should i try some other way please help i dont want to loose my progress. I have been playing for around a year or so.

Thank you! But that did not work either. I can try deleting and re-downloading Minecraft, but I always lose all of my worlds when I do that. Is there a way I can delete it and re-download it without losing all of my worlds?

Can someone help I have been playing Minecraft for a long time, and the amount of world I have has built up to the point where I cannot create more world without thtem corrupting but every time I go 2 delete all the worlds, my game crashes. How do I fix this?

Have you hard reset your Xbox and power cycled it to see if Minecraft on Xbox One received an update as well?

I noticed this note on the Mojang support page for transferring worlds on Xbox Consoles: "Please note:
It’s not possible to transfer a world directly from Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition to the new version of Minecraft for Xbox One. To do this, you will need to first transfer the world to Xbox One Edition
and then to the new version of Minecraft."

If I'm not mistaken Minecraft Xbox One Edition was upgraded to the new version of Minecraft with the BTU but based on that note you would have to upload the worlds to the Xbox One edition and then to the newest version of Minecraft on Xbox One. I'm not sure
if this has anything to do with the issue but I figured it was worth noting.

how do you give someone else your xbox one minecraft world to their xbox one because my friend is tired of having to join the world so i can play and get our world a upgrade.
