How do I unlink a very old deactivated EA account from my xbox account?

I am trying to link my Xbox account to my current EA account so I can use ea play through game pass. However everytime I try to link it via EA it says my account is already linked to an email that is *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** or something similar. As this account seemingly no longer exists somehow I cannot link anything else to my xbox account and furthermore cannot log in to my xbox account to access EA play as it sends me down a loop of resetting my password which gets me nowhere, which im assuming is because the linked EA account is effectively dead. I have no idea how to rectify this and both microsoft support and ea support are equally useless, but I do not see a way for me to fix this without someone on their end doing it from within?

Hi,

I'm Tim, an Independent Advisor here and a Microsoft user like you. I don't work for Microsoft and do not have access to any of your data on their system.

When logging into your EA account there is an option within the settings to view what accounts are linked.

There should be an option where it lists Xbox and then the option of unlinking.

If you navigate to the EA Account settings portal.

Click on Connections.

Find the account you want to unlink, and click the Unlink button next to it.

Read the disclaimer and make sure you want to unlink

Check the box next to I understand and wish to continue.

Click Unlink

You should be able to unlink your Xbox account from your EA account by signing into your EA Account and under your profile info you should see all the linked profiles.

I can't get into my EA account anymore though. So is there a way I can do this from my Xbox account?

I'd also look into contacting EA and asking them why your account is being deactivated instead of unlinked? I was able to get my gamertag unlinked when I had a problem with it previously (about a year ago) they should be able to do the same for you. You
might want to demand that they do that as it does seem like something weird is going on here in regards to the EA account.

I had the same issue. Had to go to my EA Account and Unlink my Xbox Live account.

After Unlinking, follow the steps to install an EA Play game from the Xbox app. EA Desktop will ask to re-link your Microsoft account.

After doing that it all works fine. Hope this helped.
