    How do I turn off the Siri-like "selected" voice on the menu?


    This computer voice just showed up on my home menu the other day and reads to me every time I move the cursor. I've looked all through settings and can't find where to turn off the voice. It is incredibly annoying. I am not blind and I know how to read,
    but thanks anyway.

    My Siri has always worked fine, but then so has my Kinect.

    Voice commands - no response

    I am finding that the voice command "xbox turn off" gives me the option boxes "yes" and "no" but after that no response Also the voice command to turn on is about 50/50 in regards to operating as it should

    How do I turn off the Siri-like "selected" voice on the menu?

    The "Narrator"....

    Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

    2.Go down to the fifth tab and select Settings.

    3.Scroll left and select the default option, All Settings.

    4.The bottom option in Settings is Ease of Access. Scroll down to it and then scroll right to find and select Narrator.

    5.The focus will default to the area where you can turn narrator on and off again. Press the A button on your controller to turn the narrator on. To turn it off, press the A button again.

    You should also be able to turn the feature off by holding the Xbox button on the controller to bring up the shut down screen and then just press the Menu button on the controller.

    The "controller " is most likely how you enabled it , when you hold the xbox button to turn off the console its hiding over there on the right and may get accidentally selected...

    Kinect voice commands will not work since cortina installed.

    Hey, so Cortana works a bit differently than the old voice commands, they no longer work. With everything you do with her start out the command with "Hey, Cortana" It's kinda like talking to siri. Just make sure she's turned on in the settings first.
