How do I transfer save game data from the normal .sfs format to the xbox live pass save...

different digital stores are exactly the same as PlayStation and Xbox. With rare exception, nothing transfers between them. The only time something like that will happen is if the developer sets up a conversion portal, and then usually you're limited still within a console family

Thank you for your message. I spent a lot of time playing Starfield on my friend's computer, I'm level 52. I saved the file, like Kryls I saved the game and didn't realise that my friends are using Steam instead of Xbox. I purchased the Xbox game (Windows 11) and was then that I found those problems.

I don't want to lose my saved game, and I wouldn't like to spend extra money on the same game just a different company (which I don't truly understand why they need to sell in different places).

Is there any solution from your point of view?

In another forum post, a mod mentioned that formatting doesn't actually delete the data. So long as you haven't written anything over it, you could be able to use special data recovery software to get your saves back. I'm assuming this is easier with a media
storage device than with one formatted for games and apps since PCs can't read that data. Then there's the issue with transferring that data onto a formatted drive, then another issue with Xbox verifying your saved data. I wish you the best of luck, I know
