How do I transfer a gamertag from email A to email B?

Unfortunately for security reasons, it’s not possible to merge or combine Microsoft accounts, nor can you transfer such things as your game progress or Gamertag, account purchases, and balance from one Microsoft Xbox account to another.

All account information is permanently attached to your email and Microsoft Xbox account/gamer tag and cannot be transferred. This includes things like saved data, games owned, achievements etc.

I'm having the same problem, I want to transfer this gamertag to another email. The only problem is while trying to transfer I accidentally created a gamertag on the email I wanted the gamertag to be transferred to. So I followed the directions on the transfer
gamertag website. The email I now want to transfer my gamertag to is gamertag free, but when I try to transfer now I get Status code: 8016FE6D.

How long ago did you set up the other account? You can transfer a gamertag from one email to another, but it can only be done once every 30 days.

You'll need a third Email account so you can do the switching.

Hi there!

This current email you're using, is it a 3rd party email or a Microsoft email? If that's a 3rd party email, it's only possible to transfer it from one account to another. If that's a Microsoft email, it cannot be linked/transferred or merged to a different Microsoft account. Either way, we cannot merge accounts.

Since your Minecraft is linked to a different account, it will stay there same as your other games and gamertag on your account from your console. What we can only do is transfer aliases or primary email addresses given that the email address is a 3rd party email.
