    How do I stop xbox one game and system crashing during Doom eternal


    I have a pretty much new xbox one x, bought July 2020, with less than 50hrs of game time and seldom netflix streaming use. It's in a cool basement and well ventilated. The fan goes like hyper speed on just the doom eternal title screen and is louder than
    any console I've ever owned, but console is warm to touch, not hot. At least 1x each chapter the console will freeze up and emits a buzzing sound thru my soundbar for 5secs, then game closes.This is disc version stored on stock drive. It sounds like 1 long
    distorted note or beeo, doesn't sound intentional but I don't know for sure as this is my 1st Xb1. I don't have other apps open and everything is up to date. Also, if i open the side screen and use "record what happened", set for 4k and 30secs, it does so
    but if I preview it, the console freezes up and same buzzing. This was repeatable.The 1st time it happened, the clip wouldn't play, the side menu froze, couldn't go back to game, the buzz, and console reset itself. The 2nd time the clip played audio only on
    a black screen similar to when toggling hdr, then froze and game closed only. I'm not sure if this is isolated to this game only or all enhanced games or a faulty console. I am unsure because the home screen is laggy at times, even with no game open, it will
    sometimes skip past side bar items as if controller sensitivity is too high but it's not. I cant find any info on what the buzzing means. I hope it isn't a faulty console. It's bad enough I was sent a faulty controller out the box. I have console set to power
    saving shutoff to avoid damage from power outages. This is in single player but Bethesda requires login to play, so hardwired to router.

    TDLR: Doom Eternal crashes frequently with buzzing sound precurring it. The 2nd issue seems as if the console can't handle game capture and a game open at the same time, or anything else open really which is strange considering the X is supposed to be more
    powerful than my ps4 slim which can handle

    it no problem. Any help appreciated

    Gears of War 4 on PC stuck on loading screen every time

    So, I just resolved the issue with Doom Eternal in the weirdest way.

    I had to "re-install" every Xbox App game after reinstalling the Gaming Services package by navigating to the game's page in the Xbox App. I started with Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and that worked just fine. I then tried Doom Eternal, and launching it after "re-installing" it failed with the same error message as before.

    I then launched Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy again, waited for the Launcher to appear, clicked Play, and when that game started up it also launched Doom Eternal for some reason - both games started simultaneously, with Doom starting a moment after Guardians and appearing on top.

    I went through the initial setup, logging in, confirmation prompts in Doom, changed the resolution, and quit out. I then also quit out of Guardians. I tried launching Doom Eternal again from the Xbox App, and it started up just fine. So Doom Eternals appears fixed, and I have no idea why launching Guardians of the Galaxy fixed it, but it did.

    I am disappointed and confused with how much trouble I've had with games from the Xbox App, considering that Microsoft controls both the OS and the app, particularly when everyone else - from giants like Steam and Ubisoft to small platforms like GOG and Itch.io - have figured out how to digitally distribute games that just work. I suspect it has a lot to do with the Universal Windows Platform that the Xbox App uses.

    Xbox app for PC does not automatically update any games

    I was able to solve this. My Xbox app on PC showed a new update for Doom Eternal. But clicking Update in that app didn't do anything.

    On opening the Microsoft Store and going to updates, it listed the Doom Eternal update along with a few others. I did a Update all and to my surprise all apps, except Doom Eternal got updated and it remained in my queue.

    Then I clicked Get Updates. It found a few more apps to update and this time Doom Eternal update started downloading too. No idea what the trigger is though.

    I hope you are doing well today. Welcome to the Xbox Community. Thank you for reaching out to Xbox Forums. I see that you have issues with Doom Eternal on PC Game Pass. I am happy to help and provide some suggestions. The Video driver error could mean either you need to reinstall your Graphics card drivers or update them to play the game. Do you have other things running in the back related to Twitch or an overlay? Also, DOOM Eternal - Bethesda Support go to this site and select What can I do if Doom Eternal is crashing on PC? What Graphics card are you using, Nvidia or AMD?

    Pretty sure they're not using Vulkan on Xbox.

    How they run depends on what console you're using. On Series X they're excellent, and Doom Eternal even has raytraced reflections on the Series X hardware. The RT can drop the FPS to just below 60 occasionally, but it's largely flawless.

    On the now older Xbox One S their resolution is limited to around 900P, but they run much smoother and in higher res on the One X and Series X.

    If you've got a Series X, Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein II The New Colossus and Wolfenstein Youngblood play really well. No major performance issues. Digital Foundry on YouTube have conducted extensive tests on these games. I would check them out.
