    How do I stop my games from uninstalling themselves?


    I have been having a problem with the xbox app lately. This is now the seventh time game Sea of Thieves has uninstalled itself from my computer. I have it downloaded to an external drive, Seagate Firecuda Gaming SSD, and the game vanishes. I do not know if this problem is exclusive to this game as I have no other games installed through xbox. This occurs randomly and without warning.

    To be clear this happened once when I had it installed on my internal drive shortly before I switched to the external one.

    I am running Windows 10 and this does not happen with any game installed through any other service, for example Steam.

    if you interrupt the update process, the game will become corrupted and delete itself.

    You need to pause any updates in progress before shutting down your machine

    If you interrupt an update the game files are corrupted and must be reinstalled.

    Thank you to everyone for your advice. I unplugged the external storage, waited 30 sexonds, then plugged it back again. Everything is back to normal now. 😀
