How do I sign up for Partner Individual Account?

Hi, I’m trying to enable Developer Mode on my Xbox Series S. It says to sign up for Microsoft Partner Network. I want an Individual account. How do I do that? When I try my Microsoft account it says it’s a free account and I need a Work Account. Like .onMicrosoft.com. It doesn’t ask for Individual. Like on the webpage I’m reading. It does say “developer for Xbox.” Consumer. I chose that. I tried my Azure student email. Same problem. It’s an Outlook account. So how do I sign up? For Individual? A link? Please reply. Thanks

ID@Xbox is the Indie Dev program, try this route and see if you are able to get signed up. Click this link then select "Apply Now." You will still have to provide a studio (organization) name with other information.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I signed up and registered an email with mydomain.onmicrosoft.com. Created an account. Now it's asking for a Legal Business name and info. I don't have that. I still haven't found the option for "Individual." Is there a Microsoft Chat? For free? I'm trying your Links. Please reply with any info on Individual. It should be $19. I'll report back. Thanks

Hi, I got it working. I searched for dev mode on my Xbox. It gave me a link. I created a new .onMicrosoft.com email. Then it gave me the option Individual. I paid for it. I had to use a Gmail address for setting up dev mode. Inside my Xbox. Test user. Now I have Retroarch. Super happy. Thanks for the help!

Here's an article that discusses the account signup process including how to register and pay for the developer account. This resource also includes guidelines for the dev account, and this other web page has a FAQ on the top questions for registering for a developer account.

If you sign up for a business account for Office 365 for business, Microsoft creates a new domain using .onMicrosoft.com. This means that the developer accounts may require the use of a business version of Microsoft Office instead of the student or personal version because developer accounts are for business use. For this reason, you may have to purchase a business version of office if the steps don't work in the first article provided with your existing accounts. For questions related to Microsoft Office for business, click this link and scroll through the page, eventually a pop up will happen that says, "Chat with Sales" and the representative can walk you through how to get an on.microsoft.com business account.
