How do I sign my kids up for email in Microsoft family?

I want to setup my kids with Microsoft family and buy Minecraft for them to play; however, I am unable to create email addresses for them. A screen pops up saying they detect suspicious activity.

How do I sign my kids up for email in Microsoft family?

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you are experiencing issues creating accounts for the kids.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please create a Microsoft account for them in here:

    https://signup.live.com/?lic=1

When you make their accounts please make sure to add a security information like an email or a working phone number so that you'll be able to verify their accounts when there is a need to.

Once you have added a security information to their accounts, kindly proceed with adding them to your family group.

Kindly sign in the adult/Organizer account here: https://account.microsoft.com/family/

Go to "Add a member "

Kindly add your kids account as a member.

Once done, sign in to the kids email and then accept the invitation.

When the invitation has been successfully accepted, they'll be added to the family group.

Thank you for your cooperation and have a great day!

Credit card not showing as option for child's account in Microsoft Family Services.

I'm having the exact same issue as above. The credit card is showing when I sign into my kid's Microsoft Account, but it's not showing in on my child's Family account. Why? I don't want to remove the Ask To Buy. But I want to use the credit card and not this bizarre option to buy in $10 increments.

How do I get the credit card I added to my child's Microsoft Account to show up in their Family account? When I click the option to add the credit card in the Family page, it tells me to add it to the kid's Microsoft Account, which...I've already done.

(as a side note: Microsoft's Family account thing is ridiculously convoluted. Please hire some Google employees to fix this. Google Family is SO MUCH EASIER!)

Thanks. This partially answers my questions. Do i sign in with my kids live accounts to let them sign in? And will the Microsoft family restrictions also apply on the xbox?

I need help, how do I remove my kids from an old family account and allow them to accept the invite to be added to the family group on my new account?

    Hello Chelsea!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

To remove your kids from the old family account, you will need to sign into the old account and remove them from the family group. Since you have mentioned that the organizer Microsoft account has an old, deactivated email address, you may still be able to access the Microsoft account. just by entering the same password and the email address of the account.

Here are the steps to do so:

    1. Sign into the old account at account.microsoft.com/family.

    2. Select the child you want to remove from the family group.

    3. Select "Remove from family group" and confirm the action.

Once you have removed your kids from the old family account, you can then send them an invite to join your new family group. Here are the steps to do so:

    1. Sign into your new account at account.microsoft.com/family.

    2. Select "Add a family member."

    3. Enter your child's email address and select "Send invite."

    4. Your child will receive an email invitation to join your family group. They will need to accept the invitation to join.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Sincerely,

    Microsoft Community Moderator

Have you tried the xbox family app? We set up an account for our kids with there own email address. The xbox family app works great and can limit things that you do want kids doing
