How do I sign into and old Xbox account

How old is the account?

If the account is too old, and is inactive, it is deleted and made available for someone else to claim. This may be what has happened with your account which is why your password is not working for the account.

In regards to gaining access to it. The only way to gain access to the account would be through the Microsft account recovery form found here: Account recovery form

Please make sure you include as much information as possble as this helps verify that you are the account owner. It may be worth searching your gamertag on Xbox to see if your XBox gamertag is still active.

I’m pretty sure that’s the right email because when I got on the Xbox originally it sent a security code to that email but then errored. I looked up the code and it suggested to remove the account and sign in again but when I did it it loaded the other previously mentioned Xbox account that was accidentally created. So I have access to the email and can sign it but the issue is I can’t get the right Xbox profile that’s also on the same email apparently

Just to confirm, are you more than sure that’s the correct email?

If that’s the case, did you not remember receiving a security notification recently about changes made in your account?

If it’s not the second, I can advise you to fill the account recovery form, in that way you're going to submit a ticket with Microsoft account recovery team https://account.live.com/acsr

How do I sign back into my old account

let me break it down...

The old xbox was given away, so the user wants to recover their account/gamertag on their new xbox.

They used their Gmail address to sign in to the new xbox as the old email/pwd would not let them sign in saying it was associated with another xbox ...

So they've signed in using the gmail account and downloaded their gamertag, they want to make sure the user of the old xbox cannot sign onto their account, how can they do this?

When they try to put a password in place it says their microsoft account password isnt required when they sign in on 4 other consoles... how can they continue to use their gamertag and block it from being used on the old xbox?

Your assistance would be most appreciated.
