How do I share my online subscription with family

With regards to your issue, you should be able to share your subscription with up to 4 others if this is the Game Pass family you have with you.

But for this, may I ask how many members do you have on your Microsoft Family group? As that might be the case as to why it is not being shared as there should be 4 only. For us to check try to sign in your family account at https://account.microsoft.com/family page.

The information above is incorrect. You do not have to remove them from the family in order for them to use their subscription. Being in a family does not cause anyone to "inherit" a subscription as that is not how they are shared. Keep in mind a Core subscription primarily gives the user online multiplayer. It has very few games compared to Game Pass Ultimate. So depending on what games he is trying to play, they may just not be included with his subscription.

you can share gold and gamepass on both consoles and just pay a membership just have the profile on both consoles and turn on the sharing option, another option is to make a family account and on the main pay for the subscription and share with your children's

You can still share content without having a gold subscription on each account. That's just part of the content's licenses. The family plan never had an affect on how content is shared. You just need to subscriptions if you want to play online.

Also, the One does allow sharing of a gold subscription over a console. So if you were planning on getting that, you would only need to purchase one subscription.
