    How do I remove Forza Horizon 5 from MS Store download list (it keeps coming back)


    Hello,

    I have never bought FH5 on PC, nor have I given any consent for it to be downloaded on my machine, but no matter what I do, it keeps appearing in the dl queue and trying to download and install itself. I'm using my PC purely for work and whenever the game decides to download itself in the background, it eats away all the bandwidth on my company's VPN, getting me in trouble with the security department. Needless to say that INSTALLING SOFTWARE WITHOUT MY CONSENT IS UNACCEPTABLE! Even trying to remove it from the downloads both in the XBox App and MS Store just keeps making it reappear in the dl queue again.

    How do I remove the game from the downloads for good??!! I'm using Windows 10. Thanks for the help in advance.

    Hello

    • I do have the latest Windows Updates.
    • There are no error codes that come up, the progress bar just flicks on and off.
    • I am able to download other games, it is just the Forza Horizon 5. I can even download Forza Horizon 4 with no trouble.

    Forza Horizon 5 is not able to download to an external drive.

    All of my Microsoft and Xbox games are downloaded on my external drive including the previous Horizon, which is Forza Horizon 4. I changed where new apps are stored when downloaded from the Microsoft store to my external drive but it still wont download Forza Horizon 5 to my external drive. On the Xbox app it wont show my external drive as an option to download to. I am able to download any game from the Microsoft store and Xbox app to my external drive except Forza Horizon 5.

    From MS store I downloaded only FH5.

    PC is connected only with a internet cable. I tried to disconnect internet cable from PC and some manipulations like exiting from microsoft store account, making restart.

    Update...

    Hmm, don't know what happened but the game loaded the cloud data finally and i'm back in the game.

    If you go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Can you see Forza Horizon installed there? If you can, please try to uninstall it from there.

    Even if it is not showing there, try to download it from the Store website, instead of the app:

    Forza Horizon 5 gets stuck on preparing and then cancles - Windows 11

    This is what helped me and got Forza to download.
    1. Go into the Microsoft Store and search Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition.
    2. Next you want to click on Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition and you want to click Install from the Xbox app.
    3. This will take you to the Xbox app and when it takes you to the Forza game scroll down and look at the tab named "Included in this bundle" And click Forza Horizon 5.
    4. This should take you to the regular Forza Horizon 5 game rather than the Standard Edition, And then you want to click install and this should download the game.
