How do I Redeem ancient coins in SoT on rewards for steam

It seems that you really need to do through the correct platform okay? In your case, you needed to buy through Steam. As said in their website:

" Steam owners of Sea of Thieves should only use the Steam Store for their purchases, as though the Microsoft Store can be used, your purchases will not be forwarded to your account. "

They also mention that if you bought in the wrong platform, you need to ask for a refund. They provide the proper links for your refund. You can read about it here:

Yes, using your Microsoft Rewards points to redeem Sea of Thieves Ancient Coins counts as redeeming/purchasing them from the Microsoft Store because the code must be redeemed through the Microsoft platform.

If you want to purchase Ancient Coins and if you play from Steam, you will need to buy them from within the game through the Steam platform to have them reflected in your game. Therefore, as you mentioned, you cannot use Microsoft Rewards points to redeem this reward because it is only applicable to the game on the Xbox platform.

Hello, Evan. Yes, the coins are credited directly in the game. So, if you redeemed the code on the desired account, you should be able to see the coins reflected on your Xbox once you open the game with that account.

Note: Checking your account on Steam will not work, because ancient coins are not transferable between marketplaces.
