How do I recover my username that I made but can't access?

I first made a Microsoft account when I bought Minecraft a while back. I was very careful to make sure my username would be "" for my Xbox gamertag. It said that the name was not taken so I didn't have to add any numbers to it, and it confirmed that it would indeed be . Then, probably because it was my first time creating an account, it took me to a log in screen to log into the account that I had just created. So I tried to log in with that username, but it said it was taken. And I was perplexed, and could never figure it out. So I had to settle on "20." Then I tried to change my gamertag to , but again it said it was taken and numbers would be added to the name. So the name exists out there somewhere; I made the name, but due to some sort of glitch I can't access it? I just want my name without the numbers, I'm not asking to take it from anybody, I literally made it.

That's not the issue, I have my email. I'm having trouble specifically with my Xbox account's gamertag. Right now it's 20, but I know when I first made the account I typed in , and it gave me a green check mark which means I was able to get the name. Then I tried to log in with said gamertag and it said it was taken. My question is how do I find this seemingly different account associated with that username? Or is this some really weird glitch?

Could be a glitch and if you can't get into the account at all, then I would suggest contacting Xbox Support to see if they can see whats happened.

Unfortunately this is impossible for me to do as the email I am shown in my settings app and on bing seemingly is not linked to a microsoft account

I can't get the new username from the email from my old username or the one it has been changed to because it's not fully shown

If it's any help I should be able to access the transaction ids of the payments I made for a minecraft realm

Is there still a way for me to recover my account?

You can try contacting support about the account name, but the Mojang account is not accessible anymore.
