How do i recover left over switches if not used?

But the issue is i haven’t used all 5 of my switches yet and I’ve only got 2 left but when i go to make it my phone Xbox it doesn’t allow me

If you want a different console to be your primary Xbox:
Press the Xbox  button on your controller to open the dashboard.
Select Profile & System > Settings > General > Personalization and select My Home Xbox..
Do one of the following to change your Xbox status:
To make this your primary Xbox, select Make this my primary Xbox.
To remove this console as your primary Xbox, select Make this my primary Xbox, then select Remove this as my primary Xbox.
When you switch your primary Xbox, your shared licenses will no longer be available to others playing on your old primary console. You will need to be connected online to your old Xbox console to allow them to play your games and apps (when you are not on your new main console). Your ability to play offline will also change for the new main console. Re-downloading or starting any game on the new primary console will register the license on that console, allowing offline use.

Yes as mentioned you have to address it with whoever you share with

I.suggest.not leaving yoir profile on other people's consoles this is the exact reason why you arent supposed to be handing out your.password like candy

As mentioned either sign in online and play your.games.or wait for.the year to.be up.since your first change

And don't.hand out your password

This is the price.you pay for doing things you aren't supposed to

5.changes is.luxury considering sony and nintendo.have 3 change limit.
