    How do I re-install xbox after kid messed it up?


    There was an update to xbox a while back my kid got impatient after it took a while to install and shut the computer off. They then tried to delete the xbox app and reinstall. The installer started but will get halfway through and... closes itself.

    So uh how do I sort this, id rather avoid a win10 re-install if possible

    First, let's make sure to check for any updates on your Windows. Check as well any available updates from the Microsoft Store and make sure to install them all.

    Check for Windows updates - https://support.microsoft.com/windows/update-wi...

    Get updates from Microsoft Store - https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/g...

    Check on the Control Panel by searching it from your computer search bar > Open it > Go to Uninstall a program > Check if Xbox app is currently installed. If so, try to uninstall it from there.
    Restart your PC and attempt to install it again.

    If it's not working, try the solution below.

    Reinstall the Gaming Services app on your Windows 10/11 device:
    Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.

    In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

    In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
    Restart your device.
