How do i purge an account completely from my device

Hi, Hassany! I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble signing in to your new Minecraft account on your PC. No worries, I'm happy to assist you with this today.

Please follow these steps. Make sure to close any games and applications before proceeding. Thank you.

Press Windows Key + R to open Run

Type "control.exe keymgr.dll" and hit Enter. This should open Credential Manager

Click "Windows Credentials."

Scroll down to "Generic Credentials" and look for every single one that starts with "Xbl". This includes XblGrts, Xbl| and Xbl_Ticket.

Then remove them all one by one.

Sign Out of Your Accounts (Xbox App and Microsoft Store App):

Open the Microsoft Store by pressing Windows Key + S, typing Microsoft Store, and selecting App Settings.

Click on Repair and then Reset the app.

Repeat the same process for the Xbox App and the Minecraft launcher/game

Restart Your Device:

After repairing and resetting both apps, restart your device.

Sign back into both the Xbox App and the Microsoft Store using the same email.

It also depends on how long the original account has been inactive. They did do a purge of inactive accounts a while ago. In most cases your gamertag should remain unchanged under the same account.

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question on how to remove devices. You can go to the
account website and sign in. On the main page you will see devices. You can click on manage under each device. At the top under the Item you see more actions. Click that then go to
remove.
