How do I prevent or stop content downloads during initial setup?

You don't have to download it when you are not ready.

During the Setup Process for your new console, the content and service offers attached to the console will appear to redeem. Click “Claim it” to redeem each item. Once redeemed, your content can be found in your digital library under My Games & Apps. Delete the game if you cannot download it at the moment and download it later in your library with the account you claimed it with when you are ready.

All included digital content will be attached to the first Microsoft Account that redeems it.

Hey there x GrndZero x! Have you tried clearing your cache at all during the delete and redownload process?

If not, I would try these steps:

-Delete the game and title updates from your hard drive

-Clear your system cache (use this guide:
http://support.xbox.com/xbox-360/settings-and-initial-setup/clear-system-cache).

-Restart your console

-Redownload the game from your download history (use this guide:
http://support.xbox.com/xbox-live/marketplace-and-purchasing/download-content-history).

-Try launching the game.

http://support.xbox.com/xbox-360/settings-and-initial-setup/profile-move-delete). Then try downloading the content again.

support.xbox.com/.../profile-move-delete is how you recover your gamertag. You will have to do a license transfer, that is pretty easy: support.xbox.com/.../download-content

Do you accept the 'periodically send data to microsoft' check boxes and stuff during initial setup?
