  1. how do I play 2 player game - local co-op mode?

Probably stupid question but I cannot find any information on this anywhere on-line. The lack of any actually useful user manual from microsoft for xbox one is driving me nuts. Anyway, I am trying to play a two-person game (skylanders superchargers) with
my son. We have 2 remote controls, using the same xbox one console. We both have profiles with microsoft live. And superchargers game does allow 2 person coop mode.

I cannot figure out how to actually use coop mode. Do I need to be invited from my son's account? Is this supposed to be an in-game option or a setting on xbox itself (do I need to be on son's friend list even though we are using the same xbox and are
both signed in?). Does it matter that my son's account is a child account?

    Any help is much appreciated!

  2. Games to get, picky players how do I play 2 player game - local co-op mode? :)

If you like GTA you will want to check out Crackdown 1 and 2 along with Saints Row 2 and 3 for sure. They are open world sandbox games with FULL co-op campaigns. You do everything from beginning to end as co-op.

    .

Some other games you might enjoy according to your restrictions.

    .

    1. Saints Row 2 (2 player co-op)

    2. Saints Row 3 (2 player co-op)

    3. Crackdown 1 (2 player co-op)

    2. Crackdown 2 (4 player co-op)

    3. Fable 2 (2 player co-op)

    4. Fable 3 (2 player co-op)

    5. Gears of War 1 (2 player co-op)

    6. Gears of War 2 (2 player co-op)

    7. Gears of War 3 (4 player co-op)

    8. Just Cause 1 (single player only)

    9. Just Cause 2 (single player only)

    10. Kameo (2 player co-op)

    11. Earth Defense Force 2017 (2 player co-op)

    12. Earth Defense Force Armageddon (3 player co-op)

    13. Thrillville Off The Rails (comes with 50 mini games)

    14. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 (3 player co-op)

    15. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (3 player co-op).

THere are a ton of great arcade games out there you could enjoy. They all have demos too. But if you want an arcade list, I can do that too.

  4. how do I play 2 player game - local co-op mode?

Hi, make sure you are both connected to xbox live, then with the 1st account start the game, and choose a character to play with, and start a level. Then the 2nd gamer can come in and press the menu button (start button on a xbox 360 controller) on the
    2nd controller to join in.

  5. Thanks for the response. I think this is the correct answer, but I still can't get this to work. Keeps telling me my son's account can't link to xbox live. But it shows it is linked so I have no idea. He has a child account, so maybe this is an issue.

Anyway, I think it may also be game specifc - this is for skylanders superchargers.

All in all, I've gotta admit I'm pretty frustrated with my xbox experience. I would not recommend getting one for families with younger kids. While there's a lot to like, the learning curve is pretty steep and I am finding the lack of easy to find resources
that actually address my issues beyond frustrating. And I have a doctorate in engineering (no joke)! OK, vent over!

    Lego Star Wars 3

The game does support local co op but not online co op.

I have not played it but if its anything like the other Lego titles all you will need to do is:

    1, Start the game.

2, Turn on the 2nd controller synced to port 2 (player 2).

3, Press 'start' or 'A' to join the game in progress.

As I say this is a guess so if it is incorrect then apologies, but it is how all the other Lego titles have worked that I have played.

If not check on the main menu it should list the game modes, single player, co op etc.

    suggest a co-op

Splinter Cell Conviction has a fairly decent co-op mode. Most of the Lego games have 2 player local co-op as well, Lego Star Wars: The complete saga might be worth picking up.
