    How do I keep my controllers from disconnecting?


    The strangest thing is happening to me. I have 4 different Xbox ones with 6 different controls. All four Xboxes and all six controllers randomly lose their connection in my living room for about 8 seconds then just reconnect. They stay connected for about 10 seconds to 1 minute before disconnecting again. The batteries are not dying as they are all new. I thought maybe that was the case. Furthermore I am only 10 feet from the Xbox and while at my parents house I am 20 foot plus from the TV so distance can’t be a thing. This happens no matter what combination of Xboxes and controllers I use. If I move the Xboxes to my bedroom or my parents house they operate without problems. Has this ever happened to anyone before and how did you fix it?

    Hope you're doing great today despite this Sean

    Probably something in your room is interfering with the controllers connection. Is hard to know what's exactly interfering with your controllers (can be something in your room, or a device from another room / neighbor)

    May I know if you tried using the controllers via cable?
    Or wirelessly but very close to the console? (1 or 2 feet away)

    Try the cable if possible.

    In the meantime I can advise you other things to try directly in the console:

    A. Power cycle your console
    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
    Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
    3. Plug the console power cable back in.
    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

    B. If you're using any inside build / beta OS in your console please go back to an stable version and try again

    C. Try performing a factory reset but keeping games and apps

    Go to Settings > System > Console info > reset and then select keep my games and apps

    D. In case you didn't try it, could be nice perform an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed from scratch.
