How do I GREATLY improve my latency ?

Heya, looking to greatly reduce my latency on my XBOX ONE as much as possible. My latency has been ruining my experience and has affected the way I play. Would like some help on how to reduce it! Already tried ethernet, but to no avail. Send help! lol

Edit: I average about 57-70 ms, so it’s not horrendous. I would just like it lower preferably

Hey, just tried this! First option actually made my latency go up, oddly enough. So i’m curious thinking it might be my area and this might be the best it can get. Recently been playing the my games in other areas but on the same console, and it played amazing!! I’d be surprised if it was the console itself because I played on a first gen xbox one and it ran better than on mine. I feel like i’m out of luck at this point. Even tho my latency isn’t bad at all, for some reason I find it unbearable to play in because of the SLIGHTEST delay.

Hi, latency depends on a lot of factors.
Sometimes the default DNS provided by your ISP can be worse than the Google or Cloudflare DNS, in some cases is the opposite

As you say, yes. This depends as well on your current location / area and the distance between these areas and the Game servers

Even, the ISP can interfere on this or the quantity of people connected to the same ISP in your neighborhood, etc

But as long as you're connected via cable, that's the best experience available

A latency below 100 is more than enough for multiplayer features.
But in some cases you can lower it a bit more using a custom DNS address:

go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings

Once you’re inside the Advanced Settings menu, go to DNS settings and select Manual from the list of available options.
When you get to the next screen, enter 8.8.8.8 in the box associated with the Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 in the Secondary DNS box.

Once the default DNS addresses have been changed, restart your console and see if the issue has been resolved at the next console startup.

Verify if you can get lower latency with 1.1.1.1 as primary and 1.0.0.1 as secondary

I am also in Oz (also Brisie) using FTTN and also have the same issue - high latency, but with fast download speeds (92Mbps down, 37Mbps up, 12 ms ping)
