if you service provider gives ipv4 and 6 then the xbox will auto select 6, no big difference at all, it is just an address.

Talk to your ISP for availability.

Check the age of your network hardware. It may need updating to a newer model and/or version of hardware.

IPv6. For Xbox to connect to the internet using IPv6, your home router needs to have IPv6 enabled, and your internet service provider (ISP) must support IPv6.

If your Xbox is using only IPv4 maybe your home router has the IPv6 disabled. heck the manual for your router, or visit our Networking Hardware Information support forum.

For Xbox One to connect to the internet using IPv6, your home router needs to have IPv6 enabled, and your internet service provider (ISP) must support IPv6.

Is your router a Netgear as well or is it from your ISP? If it is a Netgear here is a link to the steps to enable IPv6.

If the router is from your ISP then you should contact them to get assistance in changing it if you can't do it form the Admin on your network.
