How do I get my Xbox Series S to properly recognize a 3.1 USB?

Even if it's 3.0 it should work according to the Xbox message I got.

But it won't because it's a fake. A 1TB flash drive for $37, definitely a fake. Not hard for the manufacturer to modify the built in controller to show 1TB available. I'd be surprised if it was more than 64GB. The fact that Amazon still allows these drives to be sold is quite shocking. Even the reviews, bar one, are fake.

Consider that this 256GB drive from SanDisk is a third of the storage but is nearly twice the price. The SanDisk is more than likely real. Your drive, I'm afraid, isn't.

It's performing speed checks on the device. THere's a lot of people out there spoofing device IDs

Are you sure it's actually USB 3.1 speeds? There's a lot of fake stuff out there. What is the brand/model?

I am returning it. As I look more closely at the description, it is identified as a 3.1, 3.2, and 3.0 drive. It meets the physical description of a 3.0 because the connector is blue. I have another that I know is 3.0 and it won't work either. The Xbox message says "3.0 or higher", but on the Xbox site it says "3.1 or higher" is needed.
