if you have lost or forgotten the password, you should follow this guide:

You may need to re-add your account to your console.

You will need to know the E-Mail of the Microsoft Account associated to your Gamertag. If you forgot the Microsoft Account email, try these steps to recover it: Forgot

After you recovered your Microsoft Account email, just add your account to your console with these instructions: Add /
Remove Account

The steps you did are to factory reset the console. That basically removes everything so the console is like new and has to be set up again. Choosing the option to keep your games and apps makes it so you don't have to reinstall those, but you do need to readd any accounts that were on the console that you want to use.
