    How do I get Microsoft to honour their warranty agreement?


    I have been trying for several days now, all without success, to open a service request and get my Xbox Wireless Controller replaced. MS have acknowledged, through their support portal, that the item is in warranty but every time I try and use the form to
    open a ticket the attempt fails with the message "We're sorry but something went wrong on our end. Please try again later". I have used several different browser and several different devices, including an Android tablet, but every time, EVERY SINGLE time,
    that same failure message is displayed.

    Because it's not possible to speak to a living, breathing human being and because there's no web chat available for these issues I'm hoping that someone from MS actually reads this and reaches out before I blow my stack.

    do. Subscriptions & Billing and "I don't recognize a charge", usually works for me.

    Hi,

    Do you still have your receipt? If you do, don't worry, Microsoft will honour that as the start of the console warranty should your console fail so keep it safe. Or contact Xbox support to get your warranty details updated now.

    if you reported the issue before the warranty expired then by law they have to honour that warranty. fight it.

    There is a 90 day warranty on all controllers from Microsoft in the US. Other regions will have more as the local consumer laws in that region requires technology to have a longer warranty.

    The 1 year warranty you have is from Walmart themself, that is why Microsoft will not be honouring the warranty as the 90 days has most likely lapsed on your controller.

    There seems to be no actual way to get in contact with support about replacing damaged controller

    which shop did you purchase from, if no joy then take to them and get them to deal with microsoft, they are still responsible if under a year. but as you have submitted the repair form then it should be logged and that means if it goes over warranty under UK law they have to honour it as it was reported before warranty expiration.
