How do I go about getting my account back

I got my Xbox account taken but still own my Gmail.

I don't know how or where to start with convincing anyone to get my 1 year worth of progress back. PLEASEEE HELP

What constitutes as an "alternate email address" because when I created my Outlook accounts they were registered under gmail accounts as backups, which I could use to reset passwords, etc. Did I need a secondary gmail on top of the primary to have the Outlook account considered "backed up"?

Here's how to contact Xbox Support:

"Chat Support:

> Visit the Xbox Support website: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us/
> Click on the "Contact Us" button in the right of the screen.
> Select the issue you need help with and click on the "Next" option.
> Sign in to your Microsoft account.
> Follow the prompts to connect to a live chat agent.

For Callback Support:

> Select Xbox One
> Select See more options then subscription changes
> Select Show Contact options
> Select Request a call from support

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives a request for a call from support as a contact option.

I've tried to login to account.live.com with my hotmail address and also with my gmail address. Both are working (with the same password) and I always get into the SAME account, I hope because both addresses are listed under Account aliases (my hotmail is
the primary alias). If somehow I have 2 accounts how will I login to the another one?
