How do I get a reddit tag in here?

No-one on here can do anything about that..you would need to suggest it directly..I believe there is a Reddit somewhere for suggestions but not sure offhand. I'm sure there was a good reason as to why they shortened the length of gamer tags and they are unlikely to reverse it because it's ruining a brand

Possibly off topic here, but how do you get the clan tag yellow? Do you have to be an Elite Member?

If you mean the Insider tag on the forums, that's for Windows Insiders. Not Xbox.
