How do I fix this issue where It says their xbox live account is offline?

I have 2 friends that have this problem and it does not allow me to receive invites from games, from them. They can join my games but it says "offline" next to their accounts. Also I can't here them on the party chat.

Is it possible that your friends have accidentally set "Appear offline"?

Tell them to select their profile in the Xbox Guide and make sure you haven't selected the "Appear offline" option. It's a setting you can toggle to stay online and appear offline to everyone.

Yep that's it then. When I called Xbox in December they didn't say I lived where I'm living now. How do I fix this?

I have the same issue. The right account is set as my home Xbox but Xbox live gold isn’t being shared. I have access to all my games in offline but it still says that I need to buy gold. Anyone have a fix for this issue.

Since you've already used this Microsoft Account you're posting on, you'll likely need to use a different one when you have your offline account converted to a Live account.

HERE is how you can convert an offline profile to a Live gamertag. You'll need to do this on your Xbox 360 where the offline account
is.
