How do I fix the main menu, it won’t let me select anything.

Xbox- When I load the game it won’t let me press anything, the only thing that works is my left stick and the Y button. I can’t access anything in the menu except for the change user. And yes I’ve restarted my Xbox, and yes I’ve deleted and redownloaded the game.

Thank you for the confirmation, Jacob. Let's try to restore your button mapping.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Under Profile & system, select Settings.
Under Devices & connections, select Accessories.
On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select Restore to default.

If that didn't work, our best option is to reset your console to factory default settings. There's an option to keep your games and apps:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.
Select Reset console.
On the Reset your console? Please choose “Reset and keep my games & apps”

What exactly is your Xbox console model?
Does the issue happen to all of your games or just a specific game?
Does your controller work normally when navigating through your dashboard and settings?

Never had a problem navigating any menu other than the one in the game or any problems out of the controller.

The same thing happened to me.... all i can get is the turn off menu and the main menu every now and then however it will not let me do anything

I've also had this issue but without the GamerTag change. I think there may ne different password and GT length limits on 360 vs Modern though
