HOW DO I FIX THE BATTLEFRONT DOWNLOAD FOR XBOX 360 FOR GAMES FOR GOLD?

I have the same issue. Downloaded the Gold membership free game “Star Wars Battlefront” but will not play. No error codes appear just “The Game couldn’t start. Try downloading the game again” which i did 3 times and still the game wont play 😭

In order to download it

You MUST live in an xbox live region and an account and console and language set in said region

To play original Xbox games on a Xbox 360, you need an official Xbox 360 hard drive installed. Without it, the game will not play. The reason you need the hard drive is because the required emulator files are on it.

What's the issue you're having when you try to download it? Are you downloading it on the 360 or One?

This is on of the most common problems people have with the backwards compatible Games with Gold titles. There's been issues in the past with how billing information is read on the Xbox 360, or at least that's how it was explained to me by someone else.
Because if you notice, the purchase menus for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One are very different.

All you need to do is either keep waiting and trying, that's how it fixed itself for me when one of the Castlevania's went free or... you can, as the moderator mentioned, contact support and they'll make sure it gets fixed. That's what I had to do when the
original Battlefront Two went free.
