How do I fix poor resolution and fps when streaming/remote play from XBOX ONE

I have set up our XBOX ONE to stream on our home network (remote play). Three out of four computers on our network will stream acceptable resolution and fps, based on the PC performance capabilities, and are quite playable. However, my own PC (the fourth) a MSI X570s MB + Ryzen 5 5500 CPU + GTX1660TI, with a Realtek Gaming (8125B) 2.5GbE Family controller (LAN) struggles to produce a clear resolution (estimate 480P or less) and poor framerates (estimate 15 fps)!?!?

The network is a 1000MB/s network and low traffic. The PC is connected to the XBOX ONE via a gateway modem to a router connected with a minimum of cat 5e cable from the house to the outside office. Note, my sons PC is in the office too, on this network but has no issues streaming/remote play from the XBOX.

I have checked updates on Windows, reinstalled/repaired LAN driver from MSI, speed test (287 - 293 MB/s [download]), pinged (34 bytes) with an average <1 ms. UPnP is on both routers. have also looked online for solutions with no success.

I have tested so many times to see if it will work. Only once, for about a second it worked with sharp image and good fps, then back to poor image and fps.

I am confused to why it won't work, and that every other PC in the house can? My PC is the most powerful of the four, so it is very perplexing.

    Help.

    :)

It is working now! I got rid of the old Huawei HG659, which I had converted to a switch, and brought a proper unmanaged network switch (transmission rate, up to 1000Mbps full duplex). This fixed my DNS server issues straight away! Also, my ping times to the XBOXONE console on the network improved from 2ms to 1ms. I rechecked the ports and found that only port 53 and 80 triggered “The configured port conflicts with the internal service port” when checking the "IP4 Port Mapping". The biggest discovery is that the app only likes working on the main display (display 1) if you have two screens or more!

I did not realise this (as it was only an app), and I have been trying to play the XBOX app on my second display (display 2). There is no indication anywhere online, in the app or in the settings that mention this that I can see. The XBOX app does not even try to force you on to the main display or give you the option to which display you would like to run it on, like Steam does. (Note, Geforce GTX 1660 TI supports HDCP on both screens, and I can stream protected movies on either screen).

I only found out that the XBOX app works best on the main display (display 1) by trying to see if it would perform better on the main display (display 1), and it did! Just to check, I went back to display 2 and it fell to pieces. Then back to display 1 with no video issues.

Conclusion: I had a number of little issues that didn't help streaming, however I missed the most obvious. But then again, no one else appears to be aware of this quirk either. Not even XBOX. It is not even mentioned in their "Troubleshoot Windows cloud gaming issues", "video problems".

Hi, I am still having woes.

Here is the results of Test Remote Play below.

Note my XBOX controller is wired to my PC, but so is my sons and the old PC which have no issues. The controller has been updated. I can try bluetooth a see what happens.

    I average 13 MB/sec over the network peaking ocassionally to 17 MB/sec

swap the lan cable from the one that works to yours and check, streaming from the xbox over local network is not a stressful thing for pc and your hardware is not really affecting it, the pixelisation is from transmission bandwidth or latency. i have known lan cables that look to work fine can have issues with interference, if the cable passes by a power point or an adapter or even other power cables can cause this issue.

the fps issue is not caused by your hardware as all your pc is getting is a video signal from the xbox and nothing more.

I also have stream tested my sons MSI B550 Pro, MB, Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, 16 GB 3200 MHz RAM, 1 GB LAN, Geforce GTX 960, with an up-to-date version of Windows 11 Pro. Excellent fps and controller responsiveness. The only thing I did notice was with Dirt Rally 2.0, the faster I went, the pixel/resolution quality would slowly decrease, then go back up when slowing down. Fps and controller responsiveness was still good the whole time.

But as mentioned my machine won't stream sufficient fps, and there is a slight lag with the controller response.
