My own investigation has found that many Yahoo email accounts are being exploited and used to send random spam, without the passwords for those accounts being changed. If your Live ID is your Yahoo email address, then guess what. Your account may be blocked
due to spam, and you will not be able to download your profile. Log into your Yahoo account, change your password to something with 16 characters (use lowercase letters, uppercase, and numerals), then get your Live ID unnlocked, then log in with it, and downloading
the profile should work.

This is only relevant because I helped with this parent issue when the ID was blocked for spam, and I'd already assisted several Yahoo email users with account exploit issues. The odd thing is, the exploiters had not changed the login passwords or changed
the password reset addresses/phone numbers.

if you signed up with a yahoo email address, then a Microsoft Account was created based on that yahoo email address. Which will result in a Microsoft Account with the yahoo email address as ID.

You can also try to recover the account, the how to is explained on this link:

I have tried, no one to contact at yahoo. So started a new account with gmail.

Be aware, that if you used your Yahoo email to sign into a Microsoft Account, the Microsoft Live service will create an account with a username that looks like your Yahoo email, but is completely separate from the Yahoo email.

So you "just" need to recover the Microsoft Account password.

However, if your only security fallback for sending a reset confirmation is that one Yahoo email, and you don't have access to your Yahoo email anymore, then you're probably out of luck.

Make sure to always keep several fallback emails and phone numbers on
