how do I fix my Xbox that has black screen but i can still hear through my mic

Please try the following steps one at a time to resolve the issue:

Confirm that both your TV and Xbox One console are turned on.

Check that your TV is set to the correct input signal (HDMI).

Check that the HDMI cable connections to your console and to your TV are secure.

Check that the HDMI cable is connected to the "out to TV" port on the console.

Try plugging the HDMI cable into a different HDMI port on your TV.

Try using a different HDMI cable to connect your console to your TV.

Try connecting your console to a different TV.

Power cycle your Xbox One: Press and hold the Xbox button  for 10 seconds to turn off the console, and then turn it on again.

If the steps don't work, please try resetting the video settings by doing the steps below in sequence.

If there's a disc in the console, eject it.

On the console, press and hold the Power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds to turn off the console.

Press and hold the Power button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You’ll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. Don’t let go until you hear the second beep or see the console start up in low resolution mode (the Xbox startup screen will appear slightly pixelated).

Note If you have an Xbox Series S or Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, press and hold the Xbox button  and the Pair button  instead, as your console doesn’t have an Eject button.

In either case, this will start up your console in low resolution mode (640 × 480).

Thanks for that and even though I've done this before I have just now done it again but the problem still exists.

I don't understand how others can here me loud and clear and I can hear them loud and clear and yet I cannot hear my own voice at all in my earphones. How is it even possible??

Others can hear me through my mic but I can't hear me through the same mic!!!??

Ive purchased a new controller and mic! I still cant talk to anyone.. But i can hear them. It has to be a problem with the xbox itself! How do we fix this?? Anyone restore factory settings??

how do i buy a adapter for my xbox for i can talk. because when i try to plug in my mic to my controllor it wont let me talk but i can still hear out of my mic

Please reset the display settings of your Xbox. Be guided with the following steps:

To change this setting, press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide. Go to Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options, and then select the resolution that you want from the options under Display.
