I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems with your Xbox Elite controller, please make sure that both the Elite controller and your Xbox console are updated to the latest firmware version.

Go to your Xbox console's audio settings and make sure they are set correctly. Go to Settings > Devices & Accessories > Audio > Audio Output and make sure you select the appropriate option for game and chat audio.

DS3 is Dark Souls 3, I am playing it through steam and no it had the issue the moment I connected it to my pc. I am unable to use the Xbox Accessories App to update my controller because it does not recognize a controller being connected. When I look in my device manager the controller is labeled "HID-compliant game controller" I am able to deactivate it and it deactivates my controller. But it seems that Xbox Accessories doesn't register my controller properly even if my computer does. I am also unable to use my Xbox Elite 2 controller with steam but it works with other games. I've already updated both controllers using my Xbox One S.

I'm playing GTA V then my controller suddenly disconnects and now my Windows 10 PC recognizes my controller as an audio device. I also have the same device name (XBOX 360 for Windows) and the "20170726905959" controller name as an audio device. I also tried installing ScpToolkit, removing, disabling, uninstalling the audio device and still having the problem. This problem is driving me crazy because I just got this controller last month. Any fix?

i also have the same problem here, i tried ds4, scptoolkit, updated my drivers, reset my controller, disabling it in sound settings/device manager. nothing really happened, its just here stuck being recognized as an audio device,

I have the very same issue with my Xbox Elite Controller Series 2. Very annoying indeed.

How can the Xbox firmware not be recognized by the PC software? Huge oversight by Microsoft...
