how do i fix my xbox? does it need to be taken somewhere to be fixed?

for a couple years my sisters xbox has had a lot of problems being connected to internet. none of my other xbox’s have this problem. this xbox was gifted to my sister already like this so i’m not sure if anything was done to it. the xbox most of the time will not even show that there are internets it can connect to, so i’ll restart it and do anything else it or xbox (the website) tells me to then sometimes i can connect it to the internet. on the rare occasion that it does end up connecting to internet it will not stay connected for very long. i’ve tried looking up how to fix it through my xbox and it doesn’t work. im scared to open it up and try because im not very sure i’ll be able to fix it. i don’t know what’s wrong with it or if i need to take it somewhere to get fixed.

That is most likely due to Activision shutting down all media uploads due to all the mod infections that are on black ops 2

what is the normal process of fixing a X Box? DO I need to send this unit somewhere OR it is all done on the phone? Any idea about how much roughly it cost?

I'm sorry, but we can't talk about self repair on the forums, also opening your console has voided any warranty you had on it. So Microsoft wouldn't fix it, even if you sent it in for repair.
