How do I fix my faulty controller

I’ve bought a pink 70$ Xbox controller… and it won’t connect to my Xbox and I bought battery packs to go with it I’ve had many controllers and non have acted this way…BUT here are the issues as the store (Walmart ) won’t help me it won’t connect to my console and the battery’s die on it within 15 minutes of playing but when I put the batteries into a other controller they played for 3 days straight without having to charge now my brand new controller won’t even stay on for more than 5 minutes and won’t even connect to my Xbox if it’s not running off a usbc cord plugged directly to it and it makes me feel as if I spent 70$ for a wired controller help would be amazing right now (I’ve only had the controller for a week and it was brand new not used they won’t refund me and took my receipt all I have is the box and the controller)

From what I understand, your control was purchased at Walmart, in some steps the warranty is provided by the manufacturer, in this case it is Xbox, so we are going to verify if you have an active warranty for them, you must enter the following link and register your device (Control):

If you have a warranty, the repair can be free, otherwise you would have to pay a fee for the repair of the control since, as you mentioned, it is not connected wirelessly and the batteries do not last at all, which means that the control is broken down.

Have you run the steps in Update xbox wireless controller? All controllers you use need to run the firmware update.

I prefer the usb method.

I recently got a notification that a controller update was required.

Thanks everyone. Since I was smart enough to get insurance on the controller, it worked out. The 3.5mm jack was jacked up,,, I got the money to get another controller. Not sure how the 3.5mm jack became faulty, but a new controller fixed all those issues.
