    How do I fix error code 0x80070057 when there is clearly enough space on my hard drive?


    For the past few months, I have been trying to redownload Sea of Thieves onto my PC, but with no avail. I have been trying to download it onto my (DHow do I fix error code 0x80070057 when there is clearly enough space on my hard drive? :) drive which, at this time, has >320 GB available which should be more than enough to download the game. Most support articles on this error say that this error has something to do with an insufficient space, or downloading onto an SSD, but in my case, neither of those can be the problem. Would anyone know what my problem is exactly, and how to fix it?

    Do you have other games / are you able to install other games in your D: drive?
    Or Sea of Thieves it’s the only game that shows you this message?

    Thank you for your reply. It seams that my D: drive is formatted as NTFS, and I am on Windows 10, so I don't believe that your second recommendation will work. Might there be anything else I could try?

    After trying all of that, the problem persists. I now have a .old version of each of those files as well as a new version with the original names. I have also tried to take ownership of each.

    I do have Minecraft, and I am able to install Bedrock edition without any trouble. The problem seems to be exclusive to Sea of Thieves.
