How do I fix an internet issue with my Xbox being unable to download updates or most types...

My understanding is there is a communication issue between Forza and Xbox Live. Since the two are not communicating with one another, the game is unable to authenticate itself and wont run due to being mistaken as an unauthorized version of the game. Welcome
to the world of digital downloaded games and everything being reliant on internet connections rather than hard discs or cartridges or simular type hardware that you simply plug in and play.

This did work, so thank you Miss Kleo. However, is this how I am going to have to update from now on? Why was my xbox unable to download it from the internet itself?

Myself and my friends both have never had this issue but since you mentioned and issue with nat type that could cause most of the other issues you are experiencing. Nat type issues could be a problem with your internet settings (like if the ports are being
used that dbd or xbox uses ).
