How do I fix a 0x87DD0005 for the following applications XBox, Ultimate Word Games, Sudoku?

Willie M., I was out of town and unable to re-install Windows. After I returned, I attempted to load the affected applications. Each application is now able to log into the XBox Service. I suspect that there was a patch that was applied to my PC, which may have fixed the issue. If I have time, I may go and look at patch notes from this past weekend.

Willie M. thank you for the follow up. I will attempt to reinstall Windows 11 per the provided instructions. Feedback will be provided after the reinstallation is completed.

Willie M, I have executed all steps (1 - 4) suggested, and the following are the results.

• Step 1 - Resulted in an 0x8019001 error, which I resolved using an alternative article suggesting running SFC and DISM to repair files. The 0x8019001 error was resolved, but the 0x87DD0005 error persisted
  
• Step 2 - The last Get-AppXPackage command resulted in a couple of errors, which I am assuming is typical. After executing all of the Step 2 commands, I still received 0x87DD0005 error in the XBox App when attempting to login
  
• Step 3 - There were 2 services that were not started. Having all identified services started did not resolve the 0x87DD0005 error
  
• Step 4 - There were two sub-directories under the Cache directory. These were deleted and the error persisted.

I'm sorry you're having this issue,I have some alternatives that can help, try the steps below one by one, and check the result:

Step 1

Press the Windows+i keys or click on Start Menu > Settings;

Click Accounts > Your Information:

Click to sign in with a local account and complete the steps;

Then login again, go to Accounts again;

Click Email and Accounts, remove all connected accounts.

Then open the Microsoft Store, click on your profile picture in the top right corner and sign out of your account (if you're signed in).

Restart the system. Open the Xbox App, reconnect the account and profile, and test.

Step 2

Press the Windows+Q keys and type Powershell;

Right-click on Powersheel and select Run as Administrator;

Paste the command below and press Enter:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "SystemApps"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} [Enter]

$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest [Enter]

Get-AppxPackage -allusers | foreach {Add-AppxPackage -register “$($_.InstallLocation)\appxmanifest.xml” -DisableDevelopmentMode} [Enter]

As you complete each command, check to see if the problem remains.

Step 3

1. Click on the Start Menu and type CMD;

2. Right-click Command Prompt and select

3. Run as Administrator;

4. Then paste the commands below (one by one) and press Enter:

net start XblAuthManager [Enter]

net start XblGameSave [Enter]

net start XboxGipSvc [Enter]

net start XboxNetApiSvc [Enter]

net start iphlpsvc [Enter]

Check to see if the problem remains.

Step 4

Then open File Explorer using the Windows key + E shortcut.

In the address bar paste the following line:

%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\TokenBroker

If there are Accounts and Cache folders available make sure that you delete them. After removing the cache, try to start the Xbox app again.

Dericka, thank you for your prompt response.

I have followed the steps in the linked article. From the resulting CBS log file, there were two files that required repair, both associated with .NET Framework 1.0.

After restarting Windows, I am still receiving the error, 0x87DD0005, on each of the previously identified Windows applications.
