How do I download games on my pc that i own on xbox?

I own generation zero, and bought all of the expansions for it. ive searched all over the internet on how to download it and all i get is gamepass offers. i searched up the game on xbox store and it says i havent purchased it. when i go on my xbox one, i literally own it. i simply just want to play my games on pc. can someone please explain? I really hope i dont have to buy game pass to play the games i already own.

You would need to purchase it for the PC (or Game Pass) in order to play it on the PC. Only games that are Play Anywhere titles can be purchased on Xbox and redownloaded on PC without purchasing it again (or vice versa). https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-play-anywhere

nevermind i figured it out. i had to be signed into xbox live on the xbox app on my laptop.
