How do I DISABLE xbox headset audio-mode when using mic?

Based on your description, you have tried all basic tips and tricks for fixing this issue. To have a better understanding and isolation of the issue, we would like to ask for details:

May we know how was microphone set up? You have mentioned above "I am using the 3.5 mm plug to attach my microphone." and "...UNTIL I attach a headset/microphone in order to chat in parties." Does this mean that you have plugged the microphone directly to the console?

Also, are you using Xbox One Chat Headset? Or what microphone are you using?

May we ask if you can check the chat mixer settings on Console's Parties and Chat?

Go to Parties and Chat > Start a Party > Options > Audio Settings > under Audio and Music please adjust volume for your mic or related audio.

Please plugged in your microphone and test it by going into this step: Console Settings > Account > Privacy and Online Safety > App Privacy > Microphone > Test

Do any of you with audio issues use third party Mics?

I have been noticing while my headset is plugged in i get no sounds on recordings. But when headset is not plugged in the audio is in the clip

-audio drivers are updated

- input and output are correct on both xbox app and computer settings

- microphone audio works fine when playing the same game through a different launcher or platform

- all other apps using my mic are disabled

- headset (astro a10s) are a plug in and have worked fine for months.

issue only happens when I go into an online game

example: I'm in a Valhiem online server with no one in it and my mic audio will be perfect. Then someone joins the game and it instantly distorts it.
