How do I disable sponsored ad tiles on home screen?

On my Xbox console home screen, the apps and games tab has 2 tiles to the right taken by ads and a banner above them as well. How do I opt out or disable this content?

As the others have mentioned. There's no way to disable the Sponsored adds, nor the Featured tile. You do have the option to hide some of the tile content that's displayed however. It doesn't completely remove the tiles, but it will change what's displayed
to a certain extent.

Say you see the tips or Gamerscore leaderboard tiles in the middle of the Home dashboard. If you press the menu (start) button on your controller. You'll be given an option to give feedback. You can select the + to show more like this, or you can select
the - to show less like this. This is really the only method of changing some of what you see on your main Home dashboard currently.

Xbox live acting weird

Is anybody else's Xbox live acting weird ? I can play games online and stuff but certain tiles on the home screen are grey and some the images are distorted and look weird. On my home tile it had a ad for Xbox live gold 40% off but when it clicked on it,
it just went back to the home screen. A lot funky things happening with some of the features on live today, anybody else experiencing this ?

I pay for a service though, and no where else would I tolerate a marketed "Gold" package but then still have ads fired at me.

In my opinion when you opt in and pay for a 'Gold' service I would not then be expecting to see ads and in my opinion having an ad on the home screen, and not being able to mute it, IS invasive but I appreciate your reply.

I understand your 2nd para, and I would find that agreeable and in line with what other media providers currently do. Its a good thought but I have no real idea how that would affect XBL's business model, is Gold membership a cash cow? Or is it a server
maintainer fee that XBox could not provide online services without? There should definitely be an incentive to go gold/ultimate and ads would discourage F2P longevity but at the same time offer an experience of online play.
