How do i disable content control?

Hi everyone, I recently received a code for one free month of PC Game Pass and after setting up my account I can't download any mature-rated games. I'm over 18 and I'm not part of a Microsoft family account. I've tried changing my date of birth settings as well as changing my Windows 10 privacy settings but it didn't fix the problem. Is there any way around this?

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

How do i disable content control?

Hi! My name is Pam. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

Please try these steps. Select the Windows icon on your PC then go to Settings then System -> Apps -> Apps & features -> look for Xbox app and click it. ->The advanced options link will appear. Click it. -> On the next page, click on the Reset button to reset Xbox app to default settings.

After that, kindly sign out and sign back in on the Microsoft store app and the Xbox app.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

How do i disable the content filter on the xbox app?

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today INSOMNIA07

The system filters the content automatically based on your age.
If you’re not an adult or if your current age (the one in your Microsoft account) is below the required age to see that content
Unfortunately is not possible to bypass this

    I Need to/how do i disable parental controls ?

    Hi there Flamey 7.

I am Lumie and I would love to assist you today.

I am so sorry you are having issues with parental controls on your account.

Disabling parental controls on an Xbox account involves several steps, depending on the type of account you're using and the platform. Here’s a detailed guide to help you disable these controls:

Parental controls on Xbox are designed to help parents manage and monitor their children's activities, including who they can interact with and what content they can access. These settings are typically applied to child accounts and can restrict features such as adding friends, purchasing content, and accessing certain games or apps.

    Identify Account Type
First, determine if you’re using a child or adult account:

Typically, if you're under 18, your account is set as a child account with parental controls managed by an adult account.
If you have an adult account, you can directly modify settings.

    Accessing Account Settings
Parental controls need to be adjusted through the managing adult account. If you're using a child account, you’ll need access to the parent or guardian's account that controls your settings.

    For Xbox Console:
Log in to your Xbox with the adult account.

Go to the "Settings" menu by pressing the Xbox button and navigating to Profile & system > Settings.

Select Account > Family settings > Manage family members.

Choose the child account for which you want to modify settings.

Here, you can modify various settings such as:

Set communication preferences, allow adding friends, etc.
Adjust content ratings and purchase restrictions.

    For Xbox App or Browser:
Use the parent or guardian's Microsoft account to log in to the Xbox website or Xbox Family Settings app.
Navigate to Family > Family settings > Manage family members.
Choose the child account you want to modify.
Adjust the necessary restrictions under Privacy & Online Safety and Content Restrictions.

Updating Privacy & Online Safety Settings
On the Xbox console, app, or browser, navigate to Settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety.
Select a privacy profile that suits your needs (e.g., Adult, Teen, or Child), or customize settings for more control.
Ensure settings allow for communication with other players, adding friends, and other social features.

    Managing Content Restrictions
Go to Settings > Account > Family settings > Manage family members.
Choose the level of content you want to allow (e.g., Appropriate for all ages, Teen, or Adult).
Make sure to save any changes you make.

If you’re still unable to send a friend request, double-check that the setting for adding friends is allowed under the Privacy & Online Safety settings. You might also need to restart the console or log out and back in to see the changes.

    I hope this helps.

I shall be here for your response. -Lumie
