How do I delete a unused xbox profile from my Microsoft account? Not even my main profile...

MS generated mess:

Back in 2009 I bought an xbox, created an account with my main email address and by mistake ended up with a gamertag name I really dislike, the one you currently see on this posts. Called MS customer service and at the time they explained that I could not:

- change the gamertag unless I paid a fee (which I didn't pay)

- delete the profile to start anew

- unlink my email from the account

Basically they said that the only was was to create a completely new profile with a different email. So I used and old and unused email account just for this purpose.

Now with Win 10 login which uses the MS account associated with my main email I again have to deal with the unwanted xbox profile.

So, how can I get rid of this profile and get the one from the email I don't use?

Should I create yet another MS account and move the profile from account 1 to account 3 so as to free account 1 and thus be able to move the profile from account 2 to account 1?

Every time I sign in with my Microsoft account, it signs in as my friend's xbox profile and not mine. How do I change it so the main "xbox profile" is mine?

Once you sign in to the Xbox website, the Games app on Windows 10 or on an Xbox console, it will automatically create a random Xbox Gamertag.

If you are trying to delete an Xbox Account or Profile from your Microsoft Account, the Microsoft Account itself will be deleted.

However, you have an option to change the email address attached to the gamertag by following the steps on this link.

Hi, if you delete and download your profile again the passcode will be gone. Be sure to delete profile only when you do this please.

Based on that I think I'm out of luck since my current email is already an alias for an unused profile. If I read it correctly, removing my current email as the alias for the unused profile would delete my email from microsofts servers, and you're unable
to use an email as an alias if it's already an alias for a profile. So the profile randomly associated with my email put a rock in the whole thing I think. Sigh, I think it's been many years since I've gotten to see emails from Xbox but as long as I can sign
in I guess there's no harm. Thanks for the replies I really appreciate it.
